Marko Jelić

April 24, 1948 – April 11, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marko Jelić on April 11, 2025, just shy of his 77th birthday. Born on April 24, 1948, in Bošnjaci, Croatia, Marko lived a full and meaningful life defined by love, family, and unwavering strength.

Marko is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Radojka Jelić, and their three loving children: Linda (Doug), Mary (Mike), and Marko (Tanya). He was a proud and cherished grandfather to six grandchildren: Elena, Sophie, Luka, Emily, Owen, and Mila, who brought endless joy to his life.

Marko also leaves behind his siblings: Eva (Joe) and Martin in Vancouver, and Elizabeth in Croatia. He will be remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Marko’s legacy is one of dedication to his family, resilience through life’s challenges, and a warm heart that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation for Marko will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish, 3105 E 1st Ave, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Grand Mausoleum, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby.
