It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Marija Cecic passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the age of 88 surrounded by her sons.
Marija was predeceased by her husband Andrija, mother Karmina, father Mladin, brothers Ante, Ivo and sister Tonka. She is survived by her two sons – Zeljko (Tanja) and Tony (Nikki) - grandchildren, Tea, Brigita, Mathew, Noah and Adam. She is survived as well by her sister Mikica in Split, Croatia. She leaves behind a large caring extended family and close supportive friends in Canada and Croatia.
A Mass, followed by a light lunch, will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 6 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 E. 1st Avenue, Vancouver. The entombment will occur at a later date at Ocean View Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations if desired, may be made to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation with deep respect and appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses that cared for her at that location over the years.
