On Dec.1st, 2013, Marie , our beloved mother, quietly transcended from this world surrounded by our love. Mom touched the lives of many with her kind spirit. Her arms were always loving and wide. Family was the centre of her heart. Mom was artistic, loved music and flowers, and always enjoyed a good joke. We are so blessed that she was ours. She was predeceased by her husband, Les, her soul-mate for 54 yrs., in 2009. She is survived by her daughters Starlyn (Doug), Sarena (Mike), grandchildren Kevin(Gemma), Matthew, Danny, Brian, Mike, Jeffrey, Nicole, great-grandson Cody, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 14,2013 at 12 noon at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the B.C. Kidney Foundation.
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees.
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she is smiling saying "don’t worry ‘bout me"
Your Mother is always with you. She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, and the fragrance of life itself. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winter’s day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colours of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She’s the place you came from, your first home and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you, not time, not space… not even death.
Mom,
The moment that you died,
Our hearts split in two.
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
We often lie awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep,
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears open upon our cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
We do it every day,
But missing you is heartache,
That never goes away.
We hold you tightly within our hearts,
And there you will remain.
Life has gone on without you,
But will never be the same.
For those who have their moms,
Treat her with tender care.
You will never know the emptiness,
As when you turn and she’s not there.
