Margaret Kwan Wai Au died peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 19th at Burnaby General after a very short battle with cancer. While in the hospital both her children, David and Wendy were by her bedside every day. She was a woman that met adversity head on and proudly raised both her children as a single parent after she lost her husband Roy to lung cancer in 1984. Margaret/Mom/MaMa/Popo will be greatly missed by her longtime partner, Victor, of 26 years, son David, daughter in law Melissa and grandson Justin, daughter Wendy, son in law Ken, grandson Tyler and granddaughter Amanda.
Her pretty smile lit up every room and her generous and loving heart was most evident with everyone that had the opportunity to know her. Her family would be honored to have you join them in the celebration of this extraordinary woman’s life.
A great amount of thanks is to be extended to the amazing nurses and doctors in ward 3B and the Palliative Care section of Burnaby General. They provided the very best care and were a tremendous help during a very difficult time.
