Mrs. Liza Lai Ha Ko Au

Mrs. Liza Lai Ha Ko Au, age 93, of Vancouver, BC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Liza was born August 25, 1926 in Hong Kong. Liza was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Hin Man, in 2018. Liza will be greatly missed by her sons Alan, Benjamin (Carrie), and Michael (Colleen); grandchildren Erika (Benjii) Iverson and Erin Au; and great-grandchildren Syross and Austynn Iverson. Liza graduated from the Belilios College in Hong Kong and spent her career with the Hong Kong Bible Society as Executive Secretary. She had a long-standing relationship with the Church of Christ in China, Hop Yat Church, Hong Kong where she was an active member of the choir, and after her immigration to Canada with Hin Man in 1989, with the Chown Memorial & Chinese United Church in Vancouver. Liza’s lifelong passion included international travel, foreign languages, voice lessons, and supporting many Christian charities.

A visitation for Liza will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow in the Reflection area of Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. where Liza will be laid to rest next to Hin Man.

Owing to COVID-19, attendance at the funeral service will be restricted to 36 people, but the service may be viewed online; please direct all inquiries to Forest Lawn.
