Lina Rossi

August 19, 1930 – June 15, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mamma, Nonna and Bisnonna, Lina Rossi. Lina passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 15, 2023. She was born in Castelfranco Veneto, P. Treviso, Italy. Lina was predeceased by the love of her life, Arduino (Dino) Rossi. They were married for thirty-five years. She is survived by her children, Elsa (Antonio), Giorgio (Jamie), Annalisa (Mike), Mary (Joseph), Nory (Stefan), Lidia (Curt), Diana (Andy), grandchildren, Billy, Janine (Brent), Cristina (Drummond), Paolo, Luca (Samantha), Adam, Alexander (Rachel), Riley, Matthew, great-granddaughters, Abigayle, Laura, Astra and dear friend, Johnny Giambattista.

In 1956, Lina arrived in Canada with her three young children and joined her husband, Dino, who had arrived six months earlier. Through the years, four more children were born. Lina and Dino worked tirelessly to provide the best life for their family. Lina was a creative cook and baker who made delicious meals for many people at a moment’s notice, all while looking after her seven children. Lina loved her flower and vegetable gardens, singing, dancing, sewing, crocheting and knitting. For many years, she was an integral member of the Italian choir at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Il Coro Folcloristico Trevigiano and the Italian Choir of B.C. Through hardships and difficulties, Lina relied on her faith to give her strength. She was an outgoing, compassionate, charitable and optimistic woman who looked at the bright side of life, always with a song in her heart. We have warm, loving memories of our beautiful Mamma, Nonna and Bisnonna Lina. She will be deeply missed by all of us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C.

Our family is grateful for the care Lina received at the Belvedere Care Centre in Coquitlam and Royal Columbian Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice.
