We are sad to announce the passing of Lin Cheong Hui (Park) after a short battle with cancer. Lin Cheong was born in Taishan, China and emigrated to Canada in 1952. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wai Kam (Winnie) and four children Steven (Dorothy), Ellen (Bob), Bob (Tammy) and Tony (Cheney). He was a loving grandfather to Shannon, Sonya, Christina, Kathryn, Taylor, Brandon, Allison and Parker.
Lin Cheong started the 99 Nursery and Florists in 1964, Surrey B.C., and built the business to it’s current success. He lived to see it’s 50th anniversary this month. Lin Cheong was very active as a director in both the Chau Luen Society and Hoy Clansman Association. Over his lifetime he aided the emigration of many people and families from China and Hong Kong to the opportunities of life in Canada. Lin Cheong enjoyed gathering family and friends for celebrations. In his spare time he and his wife ,Winnie, enjoyed wandering through various casinos in the lower mainland. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 11am at the Willingdon Church, 4812 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby B.C. with interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St, Burnaby B.C. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation or BC Cancer Society.
