With love and compassion we announce the spiritual liberation of Lily Li Sheng Yang, of the Lee family on May 18th, 2022 at the age of 89. She passed away peacefully in Burnaby Hospital after being visited by all family members with close family by her side. She will be blessed and loved by her family and friends.
She was the loving wife to Leonard; mother to Patty, Dolores ( Samuel), Cynthia (Andies), Annabelle; grandmother to Jason, Dorothy, Athena, Timothy; great grandmother to Jayden, Jaysie.
Born in Shanghai on 24th March, 1933, she was the youngest of 8 siblings. She was adopted by her uncle and moved to the Philippines at age 13. She met Leonard after high school graduation and worked as a clerk at her mother school where she met Leonard as a teacher there. She had 3 daughters born in Manila and later moved to Hong Kong in 1960 to continue as a housewife where she later gave birth to her 4th daughter. She moved to Canada with husband in1994 and lived with her daughter’s family. She enjoyed her life as a devoted Christian, travelled with family and good neighbours, and used to visit Hong Kong every year until 2014. She liked music and played the piano for pleasure and service in the church choir. She also enjoyed reading daily newspapers , knitting, sudoku, and weekly church fellowship.
She lived a pleasant and peaceful life with many blessings. Her loving spirit will forever stay in our hearts. May she forever Rest In Peace.
A funeral service will occur on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby, BC V5G, followed by a reception from 2:15 PM to 4:30 PM at Forest Lawn Reception Room, 3789 Royal Oak Ave. BC V5G3M1.
Private Cremation will be on June 11 at the West Coast Crematorium.
The urn interment will be at 10 am Tuesday June 14, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Legacy Garden Columbarium 3789 Royal Oak Ave. Burnaby BC.
