Kim was born on February 3, 1949, in Northern Vietnam. She was the daughter of Dinh Van Tran and Que Phuong Ly, the eldest of nine siblings.
She moved to Southern Vietnam with her family in 1954. Kim loved studying and reading. She also enjoyed learning languages and was proficient in several of them (Vietnamese, Chinese, English and French). Kim was very good at school earning top grades, received scholarships and even got accepted to a university in the USA. Unfortunately, due to the change in political landscape in Vietnam, she and her family had to migrate to Canada. She first landed in Edmonton, Alberta where she eventually met my father, Binh An Luong in 1982. They got married shortly after in 1983 and moved to Courtenay where my father resided. There, she gave birth to 2 sons Edmond and Raymond.
Kim was a devoted wife to her husband, Binh, and a loving mother to her two sons. She was a passionate gardener and loved flowers. Kim also loved helping people and working with children. She took good care of many neighbors' and friends' kids as well as her nieces and nephews.
Kim is survived by her loving husband Binh An and two sons: Edmond and Raymond.
