Kim was born in Shanghai to the late Chu Chung Run (father) and Chow Wing Soon(mother). He was displaced due the Chinese Civil War while working on his Commerce Degree from Wu Jiang University. He moved to Hong Kong in 1954.
While in Hong Kong, he continued his education by attending the Far East Aviation school to study Aircraft Engineering. It was here he met the love of his life, Linda Wood Lin Chu (nee Dai) during a school gathering and would eventually marry her. Kim was a construction contractor in Hong Kong and moved to Canada in 1967.
In Canada he worked in the window industry and enjoyed fishing, travel and artwork of all kinds. He enjoyed his retirement at 62 with his wife through various travels around the world and his hobbies. He would also remain an active member of the Vancouver Chinese Baptist Church.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends.
He is also survived by his wife Linda and four children, William, Ruby, Henry and Edward.
Grand Children, Tiffany, Kimberly, George, Christopher, and Sarah.
Along with his Great-Grand children, Caleb, Hannah, Madison, Naomi, Martin and Ingrid.
