Born March 14, 1964, in Burnaby, British Columbia to parents Lorne and Judy Cook. Kevin lost his life suddenly and tragically on July 21, 2021, in front of his residence due to a motor vehicle accident in which he was a pedestrian. Kevin was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend and co-worker.
Kevin lived his whole life in Burnaby. In his younger years he was involved playing lacrosse with Norburn and soccer with Cliff Avenue. Later in life, Kevin enjoyed golfing and boating. He was looking most forward to getting his boat on the water this summer and going up Indian Arm.
Kevin had a long career working in the Industrial and Construction Tool Industry, most recently working at Raider Hansen in Burnaby.
Survived and dearly missed by parents Lorne and Judy Cook, brother Daryl, sister Jeneen (Brent), Uncles Gary (Nanu), Doug (Liisa) Shaina, nephews Wyatt, Matthew, Michael, Benjamin, his dog Cookie, and extended family Nicole.
Kevin was kind to everyone and always lent a helping hand. He was always the guy to make us laugh even in the tensest moments. His sense of humour, sarcasm, and wit will leave a void in many lives. Kevin’s voice was boisterous, and he had a nickname for almost everyone. For most he would call you by your last name and if you were lucky, you had a nickname that he came up with.
Kevin had numerous friends in various social circles and will be dearly missed by them all. Long-time friends Bruce, Jim, Merv, Graham, Dan and Lawrence. Also, many friends at his stomping grounds past and present - the Shadow, Hop and Vine, Cotto’s (Tony, Richard and friends) and Woody’s (Jim and friends), his co-workers at all branches of Raider Hansen, and his customers and vendors he met through work.
Previously deceased by his grandparents Art and Eileen Cook and Jack and Irma Shable.
The family would like to thank the unknown nurse who immediately attended to Kevin at the accident scene, various neighbors who were so helpful during and after the accident and all first responders. We would also like to thank all his friends and the Raider Hansen team for the support that they have given our family.
Kevin, the world will be quieter without you.
Cremation at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA. Celebration of Life to follow – email celebratekevin2021@gmail.com for information.
