Ka Nging Gee

Ka Nging was born to Gee Kok Man and Tsang Man Hing on January 18, 1934 in Toisan, Guangdong, China. At the age of 20 years old, he immigrated to Canada to join his parents and pursue a better life. In 1965, he started his career at Trader Vic’s Restaurant at the Westin Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver, BC. He worked there for 40+ years until his retirement in 2007.

Ka Nging married Yuen Ping in 1968, who survives him. He is also survived by his three children, Eric Gee, Tina Gee and her partner Matthew Burgess and Kevin Gee and his partner Beata Gee, and his three grandsons, Alexander Gee, Mason Burgess and Tyler Burgess.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He taught his children to be kind, strong, independent, and humble. He encouraged his children to be successful in life and supported their accomplishments. He loved spending his free time with his grandsons, reading Chinese novels, going for walks, and meeting his friends for morning coffee . He was always willing to help family and friends when needed. He will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday November 12, 2023 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Monday November 13, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home, burial to follow.
