Jimmy Kung Yin Cheung passed away peacefully at the Vancouver General Hospital on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 in Vancouver, BC. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Man Ying; children, Janice and Dorothy; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nathan, and Eleanor.
Jimmy was born on December 2nd, 1936 in Hong Kong, China to father Jackson Cheung and mother Jung-Yu Chu. He was then brought to Shanghai to spend his childhood and early teen years before heading back to Hong Kong to study at Queen’s College and later getting his teacher’s certificate at the Northcote College of Education. He began his successful teaching career at Tang Shu Chun Primary School where he would meet his wife Man Ying Cheung, marrying her on July 29th, 1971. In subsequent years, he welcomed his two beautiful daughters, Janice and Dorothy, and they have since been the most important part of his life. Along with his family in 1986, he moved from Hong Kong to Vancouver and proceeded to work as a realtor for about 20 years. He retired at the age of 76 where he was able to spend more of his time doing what he loved: being with his family, taking care of his grandchildren, and watching soccer on television. He has accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour in Hong Kong. He re-dedicated himself to Christ on September 15th, 2018 and will be dedicated to him forever after.
