I was very saddened to hear the news. He was a brilliant man with outstanding work ethic who is certainly remembered. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I met Jeff in my teens..we hiked up Whistler and almost starved and froze to death. I remember trying to catch fish, our tents were flooded we did not bring enough food, but the laughs..we laughed for three days. The hike down was hell and I don't think any of us were able to get out of bed for 2 days. Never forgot him..it was a long time ago. Thank you Jeff. xo Jane

It is really sad to hear the passing of Jeff, a man with great work ethics, very supportive whenever I need help and pleasure to work with because of his sense of humor. My heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives and friends and may God's love comforts you all.

I was saddened to hear about Jeff's passing.  I had the pleasure of knowing Jeff since 2000.  We had many conversations about work and life in general, and Jeff had a lot to say about both.  He was capable of making others around him laugh quite easily with his sense of humor.  He was a man who was dedicated to his work, gifted when it came to trouble shooting instrument problems, and someone with a deeper understanding of things.  Jeff was very kind and had a big heart.  
My heart goes out to his family and I am so sorry for their loss.  My condolences.

I worked with Jeff for over 20 years at ALS, he was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his friends & coworkers. Deepest sympathies during this time, may memories give you strength and help you through the days ahead.

Jeff was a kind and selfless person who was always willing to lend a hand to help fix and/or find a solution for the problem at hand in the lab. I will remember our sometimes quirky conversations and his love for a large Tim's coffee. He will definitely be missed.

I saw Jeff in 2008 when I joined ALS. He carried a great amount of knowledge and experiences to support our department. His sense of humour and friendliness were remarkable. My deepest condolences.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Jeff's passing. I have known Jeff since I started at Chemex Labs and ALS 18 years ago. I was hoping to see Jeff show up at work. My deepest condolences to the family. May peace and comfort find you during this difficult time.

It is very sad. He was not just a colleague but a very good friend. He earned a soft spot in my heart because of his work ethics and very good sense of humor which will be forever remembered. Rest in peace my friend.

I have known Jeff since I started at ALS many years ago. Whenever there were major instrument problems during the weekend or off office hours, he would show up for rescue with a large coffee on his hand. To me as a newbie at that time, he was the hero in my eyes. He is such a warm person and gentleman from the day one I knew him, will always remeber his funny jokes and life experience advices.......and miss him.

I have known Jeff for for a very long time here at ALS had lots of laughs with him and I always loved his sense of humor.  Very sad to hear this news of his passing he will be truly missed by all.

It is with great sadness to hear about Jeff's passing. I was hoping to see Jeff to show up in the hallway one day with his coffee in one hand, and we could have our little chat. Jeff has always pushed the limit in his thoughts. His innovative ideas have left the lab with many gadgets that help make life a lot easier for others. My deepest condolences to the family. We all would have liked more visits with our Uncle Jeff; we got to know him from only a few visits.  He had a great sense of humour, was always fun to be with and wrote back when we sent letters.

Jeff interviewed me for a maintenance position just after ALS moved into the new facility five years ago. I came to know Jeff quite well; he was a gentleman in both senses of the word. Jeff was also a fountain of knowledge and I called upon his knowledge many times. Jeff was quite a serious person and I made point of making him smile whenever we chatted. I will miss him

I was looking forward to seeing Jeff back at work, so how sad it is to hear of his passing.  I first met Jeff in 1975 when he and I were working for Magna Digitronics, a security electronics manufacturing firm in North Van, and then had the pleasure to work with him again at Chemex & ALS for the last 17 years.  I always enjoyed Jeff's wry & dry sense of humour, and respected his very significant scientific & technical expertise.  My deepest sympathies to his family in their loss.  Jeff will be missed!

I did not work with Jeff as long as many others but in some way we become more than employee and superior and I will remember him not only as my manager, who always motivate me to do things better and smarter way, but as a person with who I spend many coffee's and late afternoons talking about things in life in general. His dedication to constant improvement and ideas how to do things will be truly missed. Almost every day I catch myself thinking how Jeff would approach a problem or obstacle. The lab will never be the same without Jeff and he will remain in my memory. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies, my thoughts are with you and his mom during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I heard about Jeff's passing.  We first met when I hired him to work with me for a commercial venture at the UBC TRIUMF facility, and continued to work together when Novatrack was absorbed by Chemex, and when Chemex was bought by ALS.  He will be missed by his coworkers who benefitted from his dedication to always be looking for a better way to do things.  He developed many custom tools and instruments that allowed the company to stand out from the competition.  His courage in continuing his work as if he had no health problems inspired me, and I will miss not being able to talk with him about old times again.  May he rest in peace..

I remember Jeff with great fondness as a gentle and friendly force of science in our group who was always pushing our self- imposed limitations.  To me, Jeff was a person who saw the possible without being hampered by temporary barriers.  I will remember the many coffee's I shared with Jeff discussing possibilities as he gently pushed us to do greater things in smarter ways.  My heartfelt sympathies go to Jeff's family at this trying time.

It is with deep sadness that I write this.  Erna, I am so sorry to hear about Jeff,  he was truly special and he will be missed.  He will remain in my memory and you and his mom are in my thoughts and prayers.  With my deepest condolences.  Shaffina Hirji
