Mrs. Hiltrud Anna Agnes Runge

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Mom was born in Germany and passed away suddenly on January 22, 2014 at the German Canadian Care Home in Vancouver, BC; where she was a resident since 2007. Mom loved to cook and bake, especially Christmas cookies with her grand daughter. She also enjoyed gardening, relishing her vegetable garden and flowering plants. After her retirement from St. Vincent's Hospital, where she worked as a dietary aide, she travelled with seniors groups to Alaska, Mexico, Yukon and other parts of BC and the West Coast of USA. Mom was predeceased by her husband Leo Runge. She is survived by her daughter Eva Maria (Clifford), grand daughter Kristin, sister Jutta Rickmann from Germany as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Thank you to the German Canadian Care Home staff for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Viewing will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm in The Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will start at 10:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2014, also in The Chapel. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Section called Summit.
