He was born to parents Yuk Chan and Annie Ip, on June 4, 1949, in Hong Kong. He is survived by his wife Rowena of 40 years. Henry is also survived by his daughters Karen and husband Edmond, and Carmen and husband David, as well as his four beloved grandchildren (Cody, Kessa, Emerson and Corina). Other family members include his brothers Peter, Phillip and Eric, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a caring, giving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Henry worked at HK Electric before immigrating his family to Canada in 1989. Upon settling in Richmond, he supported his family by establishing a career in the kitchen cabinet industry as a CAD designer and estimator, a profession he remained in until his retirement in 2014. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, watching movies and watching FIFA World Cup. Other interests and hobbies included gardening, eating out, travelling and catching up with friends. His true talent was drawing and sketching – especially portraits. In his later years, his greatest joy was playing with and spoiling his grandchildren.
The special memories he created with his family and friends will be cherished in their hearts forever.
