Giovanni Bortignon

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Giovanni Bortignon. Giovanni passed away peacefully on December 5, 2015 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving family, wife Marta; sons Louie (Delia), Ernie (Rossana), Roger (Paula); grandchildren Brandon, Raquel, Brian, Christina, Kristen and Cassandra, brother Cesare and sister Agnese. He is predeceased by his parents Luigi and Angela, brother Costante, sisters Rosa, Lia and Luigia. Giovanni was born in Salvarosa di Castelfranco, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He will be forever remembered for his gentle nature, generous heart and infectious sense of humour. His greatest joy in life was the time he spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. His beautiful smile and loving personality will be missed by all who knew him. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 525 S. Slocan. St. Vancouver, BC on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
