George C Quan

Coquitlam – who died peacefully in Royal Columbian Hospital on April 16th, 2019.

Born in New Westminster, BC on June 25th, 1928 to mother See and father Hoy Quan,

George attended Trapp Technical School before going on to study radio electronics in

Toronto.

George married Viviane (née Chu) in July 1958, and together they raised 3 children in

Burnaby: Sandra, Perry & Wendy. As the proud owner of Westminster Television, a

successful small business for 26 years, George sold and serviced TVs in the local

community. On his rare days off, George enjoyed playing golf with his many friends, and

was a member of the Vancouver Chinese Golf Club. George was also a proud member

and president of the Burnaby Stroke Club, and an avid volunteer at the Edmonds

Seniors Center in Burnaby, where he taught computer skills to seniors.

George is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother John (Chong) Quan, and

survived by his loving family: wife Viviane; daughter Sandra Davidson (née Quan)

(husband Alan & daughter Rachel); son Perry Quan (wife Karin, sons Jason and Brandon,

& daughter Emily); and daughter Wendy Quan (husband Bob & daughter Lisa); sister

Jenny.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St,

Burnaby on Monday, April 29th at 2pm, with reception to follow.

A viewing will be available on Thursday, April 25th from 6-8pm at the same address as

above.
