On Monday February 24th, Franco went into the loving arms of our Lord. Born in Castelfranco, Veneto in 1937, he will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce, his son, Dino (Krista, Doran & Capri) and his daughter, Daniela (Michel). He will also be remembered with love by his many brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family and dear friends in Italy, Scotland and Canada.
A loving husband, father and nonno, Franco enjoyed spending time at his home in East Vancouver gardening and making wine. He always had a smile on his face and he was a friend to everyone. In 1967, while Franco was working at the Harrison Hotel, he met Joyce and they were married and started a family shortly thereafter. They lived in Agassiz for almost 10 years before moving to Vancouver. For over 25 years, Franco worked as Catering Manager at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, a job he thoroughly enjoyed and was proud to do. Franco was also a very proud and long standing member of the Trevisani del Mondo, Vancouver.
A family man with a warm and caring spirit, Franco will live in our hearts forever. May he now rest in peace.
God looked around the garden, and saw an empty space.
He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful for he only takes the best.
He knew that you were weary,
and He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never be well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered "Peace be thine."
