Born in Vancouver, passed away peacefully at V.G.H. Predeceased by siblings John and Archie, Anne Beaton and Betty Campbell. Survived by her loving sister Rina, four dearly loved nephews, two nieces and their families. Received her B.Ed from UBC. Her love of young children is evident in her 40-year teaching career beginning in a one-room school in Roberts Creek; thereafter Grade 1 classes in Whalley, Sir Matthew Begbie Annex, and her last 17 years as Head Teacher in charge of Lord Selkirk Annex. She was a Primary Consultant with the Vancouver School Board, and also taught night school courses. After retirement she spent 25 years volunteering at BC Children's Hospital and during the same period, 14 years volunteering at Mary Pack Arthritis Centre. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 1:00pm at Ocean View Funeral Home, 400 Imperial Street, Burnaby with burial to follow.
