Mr. Donald Pao

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donald Pao, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on July 6, 1945, to Reverend Jonathan Pao and Betty Pao, Donald lived a life defined by warmth, humility, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He passed away at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will be fondly remembered.

An easy-going and gentle soul, Donald carried himself with quiet humility, never seeking the spotlight but always lifting others up. He found joy in sports, particularly golf and curling, where he relished the camaraderie and friendly competition. His love for classical music reflected his appreciation for its timeless melodies and intricate compositions, much like the way he lived his life—with kindness, patience, and an unassuming presence that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Above all, Donald’s greatest love was his family. He was a pillar of strength and support, always putting them first and ensuring their happiness and well-being. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Ka-Ching Pao. He is survived by his eldest son, Ernie, his wife Alice, and first grandson Marcus; his second son, Elton, his wife Cissy, second grandson Benjamin, and third grandson Jacob; and his sister, Lorna, and her family. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and the countless moments of joy he created for those he held dear.

Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the kindness, humility, and love he shared will endure in the lives of those he touched. His gentle spirit and devotion to his family will be cherished always, a lasting reminder of the remarkable man he was.

A visitation viewing will take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3M1.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17, 2025 @10:00 AM. This will be followed by the cremation witnessing service at 12:00 PM and a lunch reception for all available family and friends at 12:45 PM.
