Darren’s heart of gold gave out. We tragically lost an amazing son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and friend. Darren was the life of the party and lit up any room he walked into. He would take his guitar to every gathering and bring joy and laughter to everyone with his music.
Darren was musically talented, teaching himself guitar at a young age and gifted with a beautiful singing voice. He recently enjoyed writing his own songs. Darren was known for being funny, energetic, generous and lovable. He was so generous he would literally give the shirt off his back and expect nothing in return. Darren had many friends both old and new, who all loved him. Not only was Darren a musician, he was talented at his craft of landscaping, paving stones, retaining walls, and excavation. He always completed his jobs with precision. Darren knew how to take it easy and enjoy life’s simplicities. Darren loved camping and being out in the wilderness or near the water. Darren spent his final days in his happy place.
Darren is predeceased by his mother Ruth. Leaving to mourn his passing are his father Frank, brother David, sister Deanna (Anthony), nephews Giordano and Amedeo who he adored, and his daughter Adelynne and her brother Jameson, who were the apple of his eye. Darren is also leaving behind his girlfriend Erin, cousins and many friends.
A Mass will be held on Friday July 14, 2023, 11 am, at Holy Cross Parish in Burnaby, followed
by a celebration of life at Lochdale Community Hall. A heartfelt thanks to Darren’s close friends for working tirelessly to save his life during this tragedy.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to heart and stroke foundation.
