It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Carmen Amelia McLean (Cooper) at the age of 86 after a long battle with cancer which she fought with positivity, courage and strength. Carmen was predeceased by her son James (Jimmy) McLean.
She is survived by Rod, her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, her daughter Carolyn (Tom) and her grandchildren Logan, Jamie, Kale and Larissa and 6 great-grandchildren. She has also left behind her most cherished friend of 54 years Frances McMahon and her other “daughters” Kathleen and Kylie. Carmen was an avid sports fan, and nothing brought her more joy than cheering for Logan in hockey and Jamie in soccer.
She was a long-time dedicated volunteer at the Royal Columbian Hospital gift shop where she made many friends. Carmen loved her white wine and nachos, and she was known for sending countless greeting cards recognizing any and all important events. She leaves us with many beautiful memories.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on January 30th at 1:00pm at St. Clare’s of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 1320 Johnson Street in Coquitlam. A private family service will follow at Ocean View Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the ALS Society of BC, or the Royal Columbian Hospital/Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation.
