2015 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver,
British Columbia. A viewing will be held
on Wednesday, April 29 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
and funeral services at 1:00 pm on Thursday,
April 30 at Ocean View Funeral Home,
4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. A dinner will be
held following the service at Flamingo Chinese
Restaurant, 3401 Fraser St, Vancouver.
Mr. Koh was born on December 15, 1937
in Juasseh, Malaysia. His father was a
traditional Chinese herbal doctor and his mother
was a homemaker. He had eight brothers
and eight sisters. He graduate from
Ngee Ann College in 1966 in Singapore
with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy.
In 1969, Mr. Koh came to Canada
to work as a senior accountant
at a Nanaimo hotel. He later moved
to Vancouver and began
working for Bing C. Wong & Associates
in 1972. In 1975, he became a Canadian citizen.
Over the years, Mr. Koh helped five
of his younger siblings emmigrate to Canada.
In 1978, Mr. Koh married Lina and
decided to raise their family in
Vancouver. They had two sons,
Herbert, 34 and James, 33.
He will be remembered by his
wife of 37 years, Lina: his eldest son and
daughter-in-law Herbert and Gloria;
his grandson Jason; his youngest son James.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that contributions be made to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation in
memory of Mr. Boon Eng Koh.
