With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Betty Siu-Ying Lee-Yuen, at Fellburn Care Centre, Burnaby, British Columbia, surrounded by family. She was 97.
Mom was born in the city of Taishan, Guangdong province, China. She is predeceased by our father Cheong Yuen in 1981. She is survived by her children, Pat (Steve), Bernard, Carrie (Raymond); grandchildren Ken, Val (Kit), Kaye, Johanne (Quan) & Andrew; and great-grandchildren Kieran, Marcus & Madison.
Mom was a kind, generous and giving person to everybody she met. She was a loving wife and mother, and a great sister to our aunt Salina. She was a dedicated partner to our father, a wonderful cook, and enjoyed singing and listening to music. She also excelled in handicrafts. She will be dearly missed.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Fellburn for their constant care in the last 5 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life for mom on Monday, December 23rd, 2019, 1 p.m. at the Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby in the Chapel Courtyard. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated.
