Antonio Cecchin

Antonio Cecchin was born December 1933 in Galliera Veneta, Italy. He passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023 in Burnaby BC. Antonio will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maria (of 66 years), children Franco (Vicky) and Catia( Scott) , his grandchildren Karissa (Bret), Kelvyn (Kayiane), Karlyna (Warren), Kristian (Ali), Noah (Zoe) and Evan (Madi) as well as great grandchildren Ryan and Kyle. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family in Canada and Italy. A mass will be held at St. Francis De Sales Parish in Burnaby on June 16th at 1:00pm. Antonio left his hometown in Italy to pursue a life in Canada. A year later he sent for Maria and they were married shortly after. Antonio eventually started his own masonry contracting company with his friend Giacomo who had convinced him to immigrate to Canada. He spent many years working in masonry leaving his mark on Vancouver. Antonio had many hobbies he enjoyed which included growing a vegetable garden, growing tomatoes and radicchio, hunting, fishing, making wine, canning tomatoes, making sausages, hosting friends and family, dance the tango, watch soccer and hockey and developed an interest in cooking later in life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his close friends.
