She was born and grew up in Fort Frances Ontario, and during World War II in her teens she left school to help with the family bakery. In 1942 she moved to Vancouver to live with cousins, then moved back to Toronto in 1946, and then to Montreal in 1947 where she worked as a waitress. She returned to Vancouver in the late 40s to meet her future husband Clarence in 1949. They were married December 1951.
During the early years of their marriage she worked at Globe light batteries, Dads Cookies and Dairyland. Anne and Clare had two children, Janine and Shawn, and raised them in South Vancouver. As a family they enjoyed picnics at Stanley Park and camping trips. Anne and Clare were involved with the Shriners organization. Anne also enjoyed bowling, dancing and spending time with many friends at various social events where she loved dressing to the nines. Anne worked part time for the CIBC in their data centre on evening shift for over 25 years. Clare sadly passed in 1988 and Anne retired from the CIBC shortly thereafter. Her retirement years were filled with many travels with her favourite cousin Lee and other friends. Over a period of 20 years she travelled to over 35 countries from the Far East to the Ukraine, through Europe and Africa and also enjoyed cruises through the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mediterranean, Alaska, Hawaii and Scandinavia. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren Joel and Leanne grow up in Chilliwack with many visits out to the Fraser Valley to see them regularly.
During the last 10 years of her life she lived at the Poppy Residence in Burnaby in an independent living facility where she enjoyed many activities and outings especially going to the casino and playing crib nightly with friends. As her health deteriorated she lived her last 4 months at the Menno Place care home in Abbotsford. She was a fun loving and generous woman with a wonderful sense of humour and was well loved by family and friends. She had a simple yet secure faith.
