Andy passed away on Nov. 15, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his brother and side-kick, Richard (Dickie) in 2021 with whom he had a close and special bond. He is survived by his mother, Nola Peterson and step-father, Angelo Tosi. He is also survived by his aunt, Shannon Bell, her husband Trevor, his cousins, Michael & his wife, Elsa, Daniel & his wife, Jill and David & his wife, Tannaz and their kiddies, as well his uncle, Duncan Elliott, his partner Dawn, his cousin, Gordon, and ‘honourary cousin’ Rosa Starinieri, and his temperamental cat, ‘Mister’.
Andy lived most of his life in Burnaby, BC. He was a kind and compassionate soul, thoughtful and generous, often giving unexpected gifts to friends and relatives after they’d shown an interest in a particular item or subject. If you complimented him on something he owned, more often than not he’s say ‘do you want it?’ or, the next time you saw him, he’d have one for you. He was always more than willing to offer support, help or assistance if needed. He had a lifelong curiosity and was well read on many different topics from technology to politics and beyond. He had a lot of opinions and loved nothing more than a lively conversation with like-minded family and friends.
Andy held his childhood friends close to his heart. We are grateful to Rob and Debbie Kirkpatrick and Steve Crane for their devoted support of their friend. They were beside him every step of the way throughout his two year battle with cancer.
Andy was very close to his family and will be deeply missed. The angels came for him far too soon. He will remain in our hearts always.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made on his behalf to BC Cancer. https://bccancerfoundation.com/why-give/go-beyond-belief/
