Scott was born to George and Lynnette Weitz on December 29, 1962. After graduating from high school, Scott pursued his passion for creative language by receiving a bachelor degree in screenwriting at UCLA.
Scott loved spending his time within his creative and gaming communities. He developed a career that centered around writing scripts, lyrics, and the design of haunts and fright shows. His work within the haunt community ranged from scripted neighborhood displays to themed professional attractions. If it was spooky and clever, he was there. Scott’s interests led him to a wide variety of group activities, many of which he helmed. In his free time he enjoyed hosting board game nights and podcast sessions from his home with friends that he cherished.
Scott loved his family without reservation. He was the anchor for his mom and Gram who he looked after until each of their passings with true affection and respect. Scott was an involved, kind, and always entertaining brother and uncle. He showed up for his girls whether it was holiday shenanigans with board games and his giant Christmas stocking, various school events throughout Southern California, or to be the person who was there helping when needed. He lead with humor that was quickly followed up with compassion and logic, but always with love.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held this spring.
