James A. Valenti

He was born to Frank and Mary Valenti, August 24, 1925, in Buffalo, NY. James graduated and received a BA from Cal State L.A. in Education. He worked as an elementary teacher for 20 years in East Los Angeles and was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students.

He married his love Luigina in Palermo, Italy in 1964 and together raised three sons, Frank, Jim and Mario.

In 1973 James and Luigina purchased Lucky Liquors in Burbank where for 29 years they worked until 2002 when they retired.

He loved and was active in his Italian American Charitable clubs such as St. Anthony Society and Unico. He was instrumental in the founding of his final home Villa Scalabrini and also attended it's catholic church every Sunday.

James is survived by his wife Luigina, son Mario, daughter in laws Marina and Kathy Valenti and his two loving grandchildren Francesco and Gabrielle.

A viewing will be held at 5 p.m., mass and rosary to follow at Villa Scalabrini on Monday January 16, 2017.
