I was shocked and saddened to learn about the death of my dear friend/family Jackie. She was thoughtful and generous and her generous, and her devotion to family family was admirable. When I need to talk, I knew I could always count on Jackie.  Jackie I shall surely miss you asking me”Lesline, you have your wine?” I would reply with a genuine comment, you I will always have that wine.” I remember meeting Jackie for the first time when she came to visit Angie in  Virginia. Her jokes made everyone laugh, and her smile lit up the house,. I said to Angie,  “your mom looks gorgeous, she has that elegant look about her.” The last thing I remember Jackie telling me, Lesline, make sure to take care Momsie (my Mom) .” Jackie, you’re gone and not forgotten.  With  blessings and prayers, my family and I were so blessed to have met you. Lastly, to the family- my family and  I send our deepest condolences to you and to your family. Please let us know if there’s something we can do to somehow lessen the pain you feel in your hearts. We will always be there for you. May she Rest In Peace.

I remember the first day I met Jackie in the clinic. It was immediately obvious that she was gracious and kind, yet brave and strong. She was taking courses in school while receiving treatment and would bring me her various papers to share all that she had learned. One day Pam made a comment that Jackie would be “forever a teacher“. I later learned what this meant with all of her years of service.
 Jackie connected with everyone. When she walked down the hall I would hear, “Hey Jackie” over and over like she was a famous rock star! She had the special gift of connecting with everyone and making them feel special.
 Jackie’s greatest joy was her family. She was always sharing wonderful stories and pictures of the latest happenings. You could literally see the spark of joy, pride, and endless love she felt. Although my friendship was short compared to the many who knew Jackie, she taught me so much about life through her strength, kindness, humor, and compassion. Ms Jackie truly was a gift in my life. I had the pleasure of meeting and working alongside Jackie, 35 years ago, when we met at Sunset Station. She was my little guardian angel, always looking out for me. We are so heart broken to know you no longer walk along side us here on this physical realm but I'm comforted to know you're in a better place. My children, Michael, Michelle and Melissa fondly remember you as you being my generous coworker that would hook them up with snacks when I brought them to work with me. I never saw Jackie without a smile on her face.  Elegant, beautiful and a true gift to the Union.  Serving with her on the CSALC State Board was fun.  If Jackie was collecting for something, you wouldn't get out the door without  reaching in your pockets.  She was so proud of her family and her face glowed with pride when she talked about all of you.     I am blessed to have spoken with Jackie just a few weeks before she passed.  That conversation will be forever in my heart.  God Bless each of you as you move forward.  Much love to all, RIP my friend.

I had the pleasure to work along side Jackie for 3 years, we did so many functions together her and her roll dog Donnell. She will be missed and always with a smile love you and miss you Tim Parker and Family.

I was fortunate to meet Miss Nana when I first started at Sunset Station as a letter carrier.  She was more than a fellow carrier, she was a mentor.  Always making sure I worked to my full potential as a human.   She encouraged me to take her classes, I obliged to keep her numbers up.   But, I ended up sticking with it and completed the courses from LA Trade Tech.  She was there through thick and thin.  I had so many good laughs with her, I have lost count.   My heart hurts knowing that my friend is no longer on this earth with me.   I believe she has moved on to a better pace now, where she can watch over all of us completely.  Thank you for being a friend, Miss Nana.   You own a special place in my heart.

There was never a time that you did not welcome me into your home. I will always remember walking to your house on Friday's with Angie to spend the weekend, and waking up on Saturday's and Sunday's with your laughter and us eating and talking. When I left on Monday's to go to school, it was ALWAYS with a full stomach, a smile and a big hug from you.

From the first moment I met Jackie, I knew she would have an impact on my life. She was an excellent teacher and an amazing Unionist. She taught me so many things over the last 25 plus years. For the last two years me and Miss Jackie spent our time going to lunch, we talked about all the projects we were going to start,  all the while searching for the best brownie with nuts in town. Our own Union Sister Jackie  White was a true labor leader.  She taught Labor Studies Classes at our Union Hall every week for 25 years and most of our local officers today started with Jackie's classes.  Tributes to our Sister Jackie continue as she was well known nationwide, and she will always be remembered by Angel City Los Angeles Branch 24  of the National Association of Letter Carriers AFL-CIO.  Hail and Farewell Jackie.

I never got to meet Momma Jackie but Angie and I go way back to our Army days.  My condolences to the family during this hard time.  Knowing Angie, this will be a great celebration of life for Momma Jackie!!

Jackie served at Union Headquarters annually on the Scholarship Committee.

I always looked forward to the month of May. It was my birthday month but I knew Ms. Jackie was coming to DC & her birthday was the same month. I used to laugh because she would call me to let me know they were coming & even if Angie was out of town she still wanted to meet. It became our little tradition. On a visit we were able to visit the Museum of the Bible. We both enjoyed the museums history and artifacts. 
She touched my life in a special way. 

Ms Jackie also known to me as Momma White.  It has truly been a blessing to have spent so many years with you and your family.   Your special visits on Fern Ave for the holidays and just because was always fun to have you around. You played with all the kids as if they were your own.   All your treats you shared and the smiles and hugs were just so special.   You are such a blessing and touch so many lives.  You were fierce in all that you did.  Such a role great model to follow. I am blessed to have known you and will forever cherish the memories.

The news of Mrs Jackie's (Mom) death hits me personally. The news was a visceral gut punch. Her passing is a sorrowful day for me. Not only do I have a great love for her- who to this day shall remains my mom - for whom my admiration has never died. The kind of mother that every individual who knew her probably should have. A great mother and a woman of overwhelming decency is being put to rest. Mom was truly an exceptionally wonderful human-being, a very fine Army "HOOAH"! mother, who always greeted everyone with a genuine, and heartfelt that cause even a stranger to open up - done out of a sincere desire to help others. Mom was always someone who gave you her best and treated you with respect. She was warm, friendly and very much a lady. She was truly a servant- mother the likes of which some of us is sorely lacking today. RIP mom. I love you so! 

Nana you will be missed but never forgotten! I will always cherish our memories and time we spend together. Our nightly walks to 7/11 to get those Pepsi’s hehehe you will forever be in our hearts. Love you, Cindy & Lee xo

We met Miss Jackie on Angie’s 50th birthday cruise and she instantly made us feel like family. Miss Jackie had such a young spirit that I often forgot that she was Angie’s mom. She was really just one of the girls. I shared some things with her that I never shared with my own mom.
