About two months prior to her passing, Irma had undergone a heart transplant. The transplant itself was successful but eventually, there were complications. Following several meetings with her doctors, Irma’s family, including her children, met to determine treatment plans in her best interest. On Saturday, October 18, 2014, Irma’s husband and six children had to make a very difficult decision to terminate life support. That night, each family member said their goodbyes privately. The following afternoon, at approximately 4:30PM, all life support was stopped, and Irma passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Irma will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and larger than life personality. She was known for having a big heart and she never ceased to love and care for others; family or not.
Irma was always up to something and nothing would slow her down. Her interests included gardening (caring for flowers, chilies and fruit trees), sewing, reading, and most dear to her heart, her family. She loved to cook, exercise, sing, dance and talk (a lot!). She devoted much of her time and energy to being a homemaker. That meant watching over her home and caring for her husband, six children and two grandchildren.
Irma Ramirez is survived by: her husband, Carlos Ramirez (60); three daughters, Mayra (34), Liset (24) and Priscilla (17); three sons, Karlos (29), Abraham (26) and Daniel (21) and two grandchildren, Kayla (8) and Matthew (5).
