Catherine was born in Atascadero, CA, on August 26th, 1919, and lived a long and active life. She loved the mountains and the beaches of California where she lived, and spent many happy moments camping, hiking and swimming. She was an artist and her love of color accompanied her throughout her life.
While working at Lockheed in Burbank, Catherine met her husband, Lester A. Gibb (1912-1991). With Lester and their three children, she made many trips to the different parts of the United States, as well as to France and other European countries.
Catherine’s love for her family included her two brothers, William and George Bartow, and their respective families. Family reunions and shared trips were an essential part of her life.
Catherine was an active member of the Catholic Church. She was involved in many things, from leading Cub Scout, Brownie Scout and Girl Scout meetings and troops to participating actively in different Bible study groups.
After retirement, Catherine spent many days at the Jocelyn Center in Burbank, socializing with her friends and enjoying the different activities.
Catherine was accompanied in the last years of her life by her loving caregiver, Suzie Sunflower. Catherine is survived by her three children, Lucile, Alex and Mary, and by her six grandchildren, Jacques, Ashley, Christine, Whitney, Pierre and Ben.
