Anthony “Tony” Raluy passed away on October 23, 2023, in Burbank, California. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 5, 1943, the third of four children to Anthony and Lily (Asfour) Raluy. Tony met Kristine, the love of his life in 1966 and they married in 1968. Together they had three children - Anthony Raluy (Leah), Lisa Martinez (Rodolfo), Michelle Vega (Frank) and seven grandchildren - Patrick Raluy, Luke Anthony Martinez, Maggie Raluy, Sophia Martinez, Madeline Vega, Anthony Cooper Raluy, and Theodore Vega. Tony’s greatest legacy was his family, with whom he loved to travel, celebrate gatherings (especially those with Arabic food), and enjoy the occasional glass of scotch and a cigar.
Tony was incredibly proud of Tony’s Express, the small family trucking company he shared with his brother George, that was started by their father. Tony, a lifelong truck driver who was “always in the transportation business,” had a penchant for anything transportation related. Over the years he ventured to more than 30 countries and all 50 states. He enjoyed countless fishing trips traveling to different lakes and oceans and he was especially fond of visiting Maui.
Tony was a longtime parishioner and active member of both Our Lady of Mount Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church and St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. He proudly served his county in the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Tony leaves his brother, George Raluy (Jacqueline) and sister, Claudette Farah (Louis). His older sister, Lorraine Khair (George), predeceased him.
Funeral services for Anthony Raluy will be held on November 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Lebanon – St. Peter Cathedral. Please no flowers.
