When your obituary book came up, I was trying to decide what to write. You had been in my life fifty years, yes, you walked in when I was twelve. Although we didn't speak for the last three because we were both peas in the same pod, stubborn, never back down, and always right. One of the things I always say is I could have, I should have, I would have, but I will talk to you when I visit mommy's grave and now yours. However, after mom pasted, I would continue to go to AZ every weekend. To take you shopping, taking you places on your list. Loading my car with everything from propane heat lamps, patio furniture, house supplies. Even those long trips to the Las Vegas VA., we would talk about music, Santa Rosa and the kids, I never asked for anything in return. I got to know you more. One of the greatest moments was when you said, I have  mom's gestures and I do things the way she did. 
Some of my memories aren't the same as others in the family, and that's ok, I saw good and bad. 
However, I will always remember as a teenager in high school, I would only see the light of a cigarette in the darkness, then I would see glitter as the ice sparkled in your drink, as it would catch the moon light, in the background this song would be playing over and over. Oh, how you loved James Taylor's. "Fire and Rain," now that you are laid to rest I hear that song in my head, forever on repeat.

First line of the song  says, "Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone,..."


 I have so many memories of Richard I've known him longer than anybody apart from Rachel he was there at the birth of my first daughter and he even bathed her fed her he loves cuddling with her he took her into her first bar I believe the bars name was Nina's in Santa Rosa yep also I remember the motorcycle rides running around Sebastian pool Bodega Bay on the back of his motorcycle hanging on for dear life Rachel and I used to call Richard poncho and it seemed to fit I love that man he was a force to be reckoned with you didn't argue with him you're pretty much agreed with him I'm going to miss you poncho you go take care of my sister I love you bro

Grandpa Fusebox, I know you are with grandma now and probably strolling down to the dog park to meet up with all the family pets. It truly hurts my heart that you are gone. I will miss your stubbornness and your kindness. Such a wonderful and generous man  to open your home to us all when needed. We all grew up with many traits as you and  are very blessed to have them. As it has been hard for me to physically let you go,you will forever be in my heart and soul. Thank you for all the Griswald vacations.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Richard.  He is our cousin
and we loved him very much.   As we grew up, he lived only a
block away, and we shared many great times, including going
to the same school, and sharing in all the activities of the
Valverde neighborhood.
We know that we will all be together again in heaven.  May
God help all his family during this time  of sorrow.

I am truly sorry for your loss. The death of a loved one is so painful. May you find comfort from the scriptures now and in the future. Psalms 94:19,
