“Bud” was a decorated veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Navy. After the war, he worked as an auto mechanic and eventually opened “Bud’s Sporting Goods” in Baldwin Park, California. In 1960 he went to work for McCulloch Corporation in Los Angeles, as General Manager of McCulloch Distributors. He soon joined the McCulloch Corporation racing team where he raced hydro boats throughout the western United States, including the very early development of Lake Havasu by McCulloch. In 1982 he purchased McCulloch Distributors, and in 1985 moved the company from Los Angeles to Bullhead City where he operated the business until his retirement at the age of 80 in 2005.
“Bud” was a former Commodore of the San Pedro Yacht Club, former member of the Bullhead Kiwanis Noon Club, the Chaparral County Club, the Bullhead Chamber of Commerce and a 28 year member of the Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lela Hall, two sisters, Elva and Eunice and one brother, Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy of Bullhead City. One daughter, Rori (Rod) Scott of Fort Mohave, four sisters, Peggy Coe, Helen Stanczak and Lois McLoudrey of Bullhead City and Hazel Kiska of Fullerton, California. He leaves behind a granddaughter, Shannon (Sean) Myers of Tijeras, New Mexico, a grandson, Roderick Leland “Buddy” Scott of Fort Mohave and five great grandchildren and he was beloved “Uncle Bud” to fifty-six nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada with a “Celebration of Life” to be announced at a date in the near future.
