Senior Master Sgt. (retired) Larry Mathieu Moore passed away October 15, 2023 at his home in Bullhead City, Arizona at the age of 77. He was born on July 4, 1946 in San Francisco, California, the son of Harry and Louise Moore. He married Pamela Gilbertson on May 23, 1970, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Larry is survived by his wife, Pamela Moore; daughter Stacy (David Arra) Broadus; son Sean Moore; daughter in law Amber Moore; his grandchildren, Ashley Brannan, Joshua Brannan, Taylor Moore and Jake Moore; sister Francis Steinberg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, enlisting in 1965 and was stationed at bases across the world. His decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with One Oak Leaf cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Seven Oak Leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with One Oak Leaf cluster, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf clusters, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Long Tour Ribbon with Two Oak Leaf clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Award with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired in 1991 and began his career as a Civil Servant Officer/NCO Club Manager until his retirement in 2013.
Larry was a bright light in this world! He was loved and respected by everyone and had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He lived his life to the fullest, was an avid golfer, loved to fish, camp and be outdoors. Larry was also a fast pitch softball player, known as “whoa, whoa” or “Larry the Fan Moore” and was inducted into the Zeist Holland Hall of fame for his pitching abilities, and was named the fastest pitcher in the United Kingdom back in the 80’s. Through all of his own accomplishments, Larry loved nothing more than his family, his children and grandchildren with all his heart and we are forever blessed to have him in our lives and he will be sorely missed by everyone.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park, 434 Whitewater Drive,
Bullhead City, AZ 86442 at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 6, 2023.
