William Wayne Zemanek

Bill was born on January 13, 1947 to Josephine Marie Wolfe Zemanek and William Antone Zemanek in Bryan, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela, his son Wayne, his son Mark, wife Lauren, and grandson Grant, his adopted son Christian Garcia, his sister Beverly, husband Charles Dyer, their children Melissa, Jill and Jeffrey and their families and his late brothers children Kyle and Brittne and their families.

Bill grew up in Bryan, TX. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School where he was an altar boy. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1965 where he starred in football. He stayed home for college and attended Texas A&M where he graduated with a degree in Business Management and was the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1969. He walked on as a member of the football team his freshman year under Coach Gene Stallings.

Bill had a giving spirit and had a burning desire to make everything he participated in better. Lamar Little League, Stephen F. Austin High School Athletic Booster Club, Fort Bend Museum Association,Texas A&M Fish Camp and the Texas Aggie Class of 69 all benefited from his involvement.

He started his career in the grocery business in Houston. He looked back fondly of the time he spent and relationships he made with Weingarten’s and Rice Food Markets. After 25 years, Bill wanted to be available to devote more time to his sons and the local Richmond and Rosenberg communities. In 1994, he launched his full time investment career centered around real estate and the stock market. He took pride in being a caring, attentive, and gracious landlord. Bill never fully retired and stayed active in his craft until he passed. When Pamela retired from her career, traveling to Hawaii and going on road trips, especially to Astros Spring Training and Texas Aggie games, became their main passion. They also started spending more time in their College Station home and assisting in that community as well. There was nothing he looked forward to more than breakfast at Denny’s with his Class of ‘69 classmates every Friday. He was the ultimate host at the Z’s Aggie Tailgate where anyone and everyone was invited and encouraged to make themselves at home, even opposing fans and t-sips.

He was deeply loved and will be so greatly missed by many.
