Thomas Gilmore Marshall, 72, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Rev. Sam Cutrone officiating. Interment will follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery. A reception will take place following the graveside at 9949 Hunters Way in College Station. Thomas was born in Lexington, Tennessee, on January 6, 1940. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy in 1957 and went on to earn an Accounting and Purchasing Degree from Modesto, Calif. in 1963. He worked as a Purchasing agent for Navasota Mining, for many years after moving through 33 states, then retired from Navasota Mining in the early 1990s. Thomas enjoyed shopping, antiquing, bird watching, his loving dogs, fish, collecting heavy construction models and car models. He was very well known for his rolling “blinged” out wheelchair. Thomas is preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Marshall, and sister, Millie Bernhardt. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marie Marshall of Bryan, they were married in Norfolk, N.Y. February 6, 1958; his mother, Kathleen Marshall of College Station; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas L. and Cherlyn Marshall of Bryan, John and Marybeth Marshall of College Station; sister-in-law, Lee Dodd of Bryan; grandchildren, Crystal, Cory and Christopher Marshall, Gabriel and Allison Marshall; step-grandchildren, Joseph M. Brannon, Steven Milner and Amanda Key; great-grandchildren, Leo Caden and Aurora Dawn Marshall, Wyatt E. Marshall; step-greatgrandchildren, Joseph M. Brannon Jr. and Shaun Douglas Milner; nieces and nephews, Lori Bond, Michael Hutt, Lynn Hyder and Rebecca Ramspert.
