Rosie E. Lackey Watson

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday August 4 at Central Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Rosie was born July 10, 1931 in Hidalgo, Texas the daughter of Marvin Huey Sr. and Esther Ewel (McCutchen) Lackey. She was a member of Central Baptist Church since 1968. Rosie pledged her membership in 1967 to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Epsilon Alpha Beta Master Chapter. She volunteered many hours for Hospice Brazos Valley.

Rosie is preceded in death by her husband, M. E. Watson; brothers, Marvin Huey Lackey Jr. and Delmer Ray Lackey.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Anthony Vitanza of Bryan and Carol Chandler-Watson of Lewiston, Maine; sister-in-law, Linda Lackey of Waco; grandchildren, Lisa Peitz and husband Travis, Jason Vitanza, Jacob Moody and Justin Moody; great-grandchildren, Hailey Moody, Lexus Moody, Rihanna Moody and Brittney Moody; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosie’s family will forever be grateful for the excellent care, compassion and love given to her by all her healthcare providers, friends and family.
