He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 65 years, Jackie; his three children, Rita and her husband Dave Watkins, Alice and her husband Rodney Anderson, and Gerry Villarreal; grandchildren, Alicia and her husband Barry Ivins, Sara and her husband Scott Schexnayder, Terry Anderson and his wife Jessica, Randi and her husband Michael Keith, and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Villarreal was born in Crystal City, Texas on January 24, 1932, to Jose and Diamantina Villarreal. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Rolando’s top priority was raising his family and gardening each spring and fall. He was known for growing oak trees from acorns or saplings. Gifting the trees to family and friends. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered with funeral meals. Rolando will also be remembered for being a staunch Aggie fan. Every Texas A&M sporting event meant the world to him.
Visitation for Rolando will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Sunday January 8, 2023 with a rosary prayer at 4:00pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00pm, January 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Reverend Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating.
Serving as pallbearers are Terry Anderson, Gabriel Garcia, Daniel Hoffman, Barry Ivins, Michael Keith, and Scott Schexnayder.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations to be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, St. Joseph Catholic Church, or the charity of choice.
