Raymond Robert Huebner, 95, formerly of Bryan, passed away Tuesday January 6, 2015 at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. January 17, 2015 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to Service Time at the church. Interment will be at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan.
Raymond was born September 25, 1919 to Elsie Faist and Willie C. Huebner in Welcome, Washington County, Texas. He left school after the eighth grade to help on the family farm. In 1942, Raymond joined the United States Army Air Corp to serve in World War II. He was Honorably Discharged in 1946 and soon married Isabel January on May 15, 1946 and lived in Bryan their entire married life.
Raymond and Isabel were founding members of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station. He loved to garden and his tomatoes were the best and highly sought after by all his family and friends. His love for gardening was only exceeded by his love for his wife Isabel. He was a very devout Christian and had just recently read his Bible from cover to cover.
Raymond is proceded in death by his parents, his brother Louis Huebner, and his sister Emily Thielemann.
He is survived by his wife Isabel Huebner of Austin; his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Milt Nielsen of Austin; his son Ron Huebner of Flower Mound, Texas; two grandchildren, Michelle Schmidt and husband Jeff of Frisco, Texas and Christopher Nielsen and wife Jamie of Castle Rock, Colorado; great-granddaughters, Mikaila, Mackenzie, and Mekenna Schmidt; great-grandsons, Benjamin and Callen Nielsen; and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
