Mary F. Ybarra, 92, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan on Wednesday July 19, 2023 at 1:13 A.M. She was born May 18, 1931 in Seguin, TX to Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Garcia. During her teenage years, she met the love of her life, Pablo A. Ybarra and were married for 72 years. For many years, they lived in Louisiana before moving to Bryan, TX where they lived later for more than 60 years.
She worked at Lamar School Cafeteria for 8 years, but also worked for the Texas A&M Custodial Department for 32 years and then retired from A&M years after that she was a homemaker. She had interests/ hobbies such as sewing, gardening, cooking, crossword puzzles, dancing with her husband and was a die-hard Texas A&M Aggie Fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pablo A. Ybarra, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Garcia, one brother Jesse Garcia (of Muleshoe, TX), Fidel Deleon (son-in-law), two sons, Amos G. Ybarra and Ricardo(Rick) A. Ybarra, grandson Ricardo A. Ybarra Jr.
She is survived by her son, Paul Ybarra Jr. (Yogi) and wife Rosie. Her daughters, Margaret Deleon, Rebecca Bosquez, Viola Garay and husband Carmen, Mary Mendez and husband Andy, Evelyn Benavides and daughter-in-law, Jackie Ybarra and sons Larry Ybarra (and fiancée Sharon) and John David Ybarra and wife Gricelda; as well as, 31 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren.
The Ybarra family would like to express special thanks to: Larry G. Ybarra and Lauren Ybarra Parks for their dedicated time as caregivers. We would also like to give thanks to St. Joseph Hospital staff, St. Joseph Manor, Encompass Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Care. We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words during this time.
