Services for Marshall will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday July 5 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in College Station with Reverends Michael Hafer and Neil Bockelmann officiating. Interment will be 3:00 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday July 4 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Marshall was born July 11, 1937 in Kingsville, Texas the son of Jesse Marshall and Trixie (Moody) Sanders. After his father’s death in 1950, he and his brother Jim took over the operations of the family farm until 1955. Marshall attended Bishop Schools and graduated in 1955. He started working construction that summer as a welder helper. In 1956, he began a 30-year career as a pipeline welder; the last 22 years were spent inspecting gas pipelines. After retiring, Marshall volunteered for 2 years teaching welding at Still Creek Ranch.
Marshall and Sandra were members of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan since 1982, and recently joined Holy Cross Lutheran Church in College Station.
Marshall is preceded in death by his son, Jesse Marshall on March 3, 2008; and his parents, Jesse Marshall and Trixie Sanders.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Sanders; daughter, Paula Lynne Sanders-Bruington and husband David; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy N. Sanders and wife Ebba; sisters, Dot Knirk, Judy Sanders and Jerrie Harris; five nieces, four nephews and numerous first, second and third cousins.
