Marilyn Ann McCoy Pringle, 70, passed away July 26, 2016 at her home in Bryan, Texas. She was born on September 14, 1945 in Houston, Texas. She grew up in the Spring Branch area and graduated from Spring Branch High School.
Marilyn then entered Sam Houston State Teachers College and graduated with her Elementary Education Degree in 1965. This was the year that graduates were actually given two Diplomas, one that listed the school name as Sam Houston State Teachers College and the other Diploma listed the school as Sam Houston State University.
While attending Sam Houston State, she met a young man by the name of Lendell Pringle who also was attending Sam Houston, whom she married in 1967. She and Lendell then moved back to Bryan when Lendell transferred to Texas A&M, where he soon graduated. Marilyn and Lendell made the Bryan/College Station area their home for 49 years.
Marilyn was a Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher. She taught for fifteen years at the Mary Branch Elementary School in Bryan followed by fourteen years at the East Side Elementary School in Hearne. She retired after 29 years of service teaching children. Marilyn loved children and she loved gardening. She was a former member of the Spring Branch Church of Christ in Spring Branch, Texas. She also attended the Cavitt Church of Christ and the A&M Church of Christ.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Lendell Pringle of Bryan; one brother John D. McCoy; and one sister, Kathleen Rutland, both of Houston.
