Maria E. Romero

Maria E. Romero, 88, passed away December 14, 2016 at Lampstand Nursing & Rehabilitation in Bryan. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 18th at Memorial; Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Monday, December 19th at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. John A. McCaffrey as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.

Maria was born January 13, 1928 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the daughter of Feliciano Galicia and Agustina Ramirez Rojas. She retired from Texas A&M Custodial Services after 11 years of service. Dona Maria became a United States Citizen on March 12, 1999 and considered this and being able to register and vote among her greatest accomplishments. She also was very proud that she was able to speak both English and Spanish.

Maria was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora E. Castillo.

Maria leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Alfonso Romero; five children, Gustavo Romero & his wife Elisa, Juan M. Gaytan & his wife San Juana, Diana H. Munoz & her husband Gumaro, Juan A. Romero & his wife Patricia, and Alfonso Romero, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Maria Romero of San Antonio; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
