Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm Monday, January 27 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm Sunday with a 7:00 pm rosary at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Linda was born October 27, 1957 the daughter of Leonardo and Janie (Ruiz) Ramirez. Linda married Manuel Martinez October 10, 1981 and they started their family. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She showed her love by cooking and sharing her table. Linda held many jobs in her young adult life. She started working at Texas A&M University at Duncan Dinning Hall and made many friends over her 20 year career. She later became a teachers aide at Sam Rayburn middle school where she poured her love into the children she taught. She retired from Sam Rayburn in 2008. After retirement she began working at Macy’s in the home store and later was promoted to cosmetics at the Origins counter. Known as “Mrs. Macy’s” Linda enjoyed getting to know her customers and connecting with her colleagues. Linda enjoyed bird watching, gardening and watching her favorite tv show Downton Abbey in her favorite recliner. Linda loved her faith and prayed the holy rosary daily. She adored her husband Manuel and her three daughters. She loved her son’s and grandchildren and had the biggest heart for her sisters.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Janie; father-in-law, Manuel Martinez; mother-in-law, Urbana Llanez; brother, Robert Ramirez; and sisters, Mary Maldonado and Rachel Ramirez.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel F. Martinez Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Letticia and Eric Murphy, Lynda and Eric Keatts, Kathy Martinez; sisters and brother-in-law, Sally Ramirez, Terry Ramirez-Garcia and husband Benito, Irene Garcia; grandchildren, Iris Ann Murphy and Vince Keatts; grand dogs, Dixie, Ginger and Princess; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
