A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 7 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Karen was born October 4, 1961 in Bryan the daughter of Sam A. and Lena (Emola) Weido. She worked at the 1st National Bank (The Bank & Trust), 1st Financial Bank for over 39 years, where she developed many lifelong friends.
She had a great sense of humor, telling everyone “she’s not A Karen she’s The Karen”. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter and sister she enjoyed cooking Italian food for them. She was called “Tootsie” by her grandchildren, who she loved and adored. Karen loved Country & Western dancing, and was an Aggie sports fanatic. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Women’s Club.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Lena Weido; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arch and Glenna Meekma.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Meekma; sons and daughters-in-law, Landon and Meagan Meekma, Logan and Kelsey Meekma; grandchildren, Paxton, Peyton, Karson and Kooper; father, Sam A. Weido; sister, Beverly Milstead; brother and sister-in-law, Sam D. and Tina Weido; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the Oncology Department at CHI St. Joseph “especially Kelly Kitchens”, Brazos Valley Cancer Clinic, Dr. Terry Jenkins, Dr. Scott Goble and Hospice Brazos Valley for the compassionate, loving care they gave to Karen.

Karen’s journey may have reached its earthly end, but her love, laughter and legacy will forever dance in the hearts of those who were touched by her grace.
