Joyce was the loveliest lady. I worked closely with her at The Eagle for many years .  She was always extremely kind and thoughtful .  Sending thoughts and prayers to the family and remembering Joyce with special prayers and love .

Joyce was the oldest of the 12 brothers and sisters of The Leo Kiefer brood. Her and two other sisters were always in charge of the younger brothers and sisters. We were not rich or middle class but we never thought of ourselves as poor. We raised most of what we needed to eat, being that we were a farm family. We had a huge garden and supplemented that with meat from our livestock, which included a large flock of chickens. 

And speaking of chickens, we actually went to sleep with the chickens. Literally. We lived in an older 2 story farmhouse with a bedroom upstairs that the older sisters slept in and two other rooms that were as yet unfinished for other children the way.  Those rooms had no heat.  One of those bedrooms was used in the winter to keep baby chicks warm until they were big enough to transfer outside to the adult chicken house. These lucky chicks had heat, unlike my older sisters!!  

Joyce was always a caring sister who helped me in many ways as I grew from a child into an adult. I always appreciated the help her family gave me.   It is very sad to see her leave us so quickly. 

We never met in person but she was always a wonderful Facebook friend. I’m sorry she’s gone but happy she isn’t suffering anymore. Peace, light, and love ❤️.

Joyce loved the holidays so much and had a beautiful tree up at Thanksgiving this year.  Thanks to her daughter, Penny Sue, she enjoyed  some Christmas beauty before her illness. RIP Joyce, I'm sure every day is better than Christmas where you are.
