Joy Morgan

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday January 26 at Houston National Cemetery.

Born March 2, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the youngest daughter of Edgar and Georgia Hatfield. For years, she worked as a freelance writer of stories, magazine articles and poetry. She also taught high school English.

She loved her family and was a wonderful mother to her three children and a loving wife to her husband. She was a woman of great faith and instilled these values in her children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 41 years, Lloyd Leigh Morgan, her sister Marian Dodds and her grandson Matthew Lewis.

Joy leaves behind to cherish her memories daughters, Nancy Lewis and husband Tom of Bryan, Julie Gehring and husband Ronnie of Missouri City, son, Jim Morgan and wife Deya of Victoria, Sister, Vivian Betty of Emporia KS; and seven grandchildren.

Because of her love of books, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Friends of Victoria Public Library, 302 North Main St., Victoria, TX. 77901.
